Arts Education: Music Class with Kyle Bain

Our arts education program is proud to include a weekly one hour music lesson.  Today was our first class and children enjoyed learning the difference between a note and a chord, the anatomy of a guitar and several other instruments including a ukulele and a glockenspiel.  Kyle taught the children to sing the song, Why Can’t We Be Friends then helped them to rewrite the lyrics.

Each student was taught to play all of the instruments and then the band worked to keep a rhythm and play all together.

Kyle plans to help us to compose some music for our Story Book Theater performance as well!  We are lucky to have Kyle to bring amazing, hands on music education to our students.  Here’s his bio:

Hey! I’m Kyle Bain. I’m 27 and have been playing and studying music for the past 16 years. I’m proud to say that being a musician is my job. I am a private music instructor, I perform regularly in the band Centaur Midwife, and I compose and record music for the kids youtube series, Blippi. I am also a character on the show.
